An interesting piece
I'm tired of waiting to be told.
Waiting to be told that herdsmen are pillaging our villages and laying claims to the fertile soil. Waiting to be told to die after being shot. Waiting for a government with tactically inept security approach to barbaric hordes amassing from the West African sub region to destroy the middle belt of Nigeria.
Tired of waiting for the half Fulani, half Nigerian president to respond to herdsmen carnage in Agatu. Waiting for the law enforcement agents to prohibit herdsmen from possessing assault weapons. While herdsmen carry assault riffles, local vigilant carry dane guys and catapult.
Who are we waiting for anyways?
We either choose to defend ourselves or we'll perish under this system.
I am proud of the response from the youths in the saving the Agatu people, saving what is left of us would be a harder task. For the first time, young people took assertiveness to break barriers. What lies ahead now is either building the wall, mending the wall or outright demolition of the wall. There is too much complicity, conspiracy ineptitude in government to leave our lives in her hand. We'll be all dead before the first brigade arrive, and when they eventually do, they have no orders to engage enemy combatants.
I'm tired of waiting to be told to self-defend.
